WHAT’S THIS SITE ABOUT?

The short answer: An online resource for off-road enthusiasts.

The long answer: A place for sound opinions, valued advice and the promotion of the off-road market.

That said, the content published on this site is a combination of fact and opinion. Naturally, you’re welcome to share yours, challenge ours, or join our newsletter for updates (I promise not to trade your personal details for 4x4 parts).

The aim here is to provide quality content that’s free of brand bashing and/or unsubstantiated facts, which is why we’ve roped in several industry experts for the more technical blogs. However, we’d like to hear from anyone who has a great story to tell, or advice to offer.

From time to time I’ll be sharing my own experiences as an off-road traveller and journalist.

But who am I?
Thanks to my love of 4x4s, guns, knives, fishing, and the great outdoors, I’m often branded by friends and family as a red neck. Well heck, I can think of worse things to be called…

I’m also a freelance writer, photographer, brand consultant, and the former editor of SA4x4 magazine.

I’ve spent the last 10 years exploring various parts of Africa, and whenever I can, I visit local and international 4x4 expos to meet with people who have knowledge and experience to share.

I hope to hear from you soon, and thanks for visiting.

Regards,

Grant Spolander

Managing Editor
